The origins of the Hybrid Country House are found in a provocation of the history of architecture itself and the need to design for the client a ‘modern’ house which at the same time fulfils the traditional idea of a ‘country home’. Located in an area which has lost its architectural character, the project defines its hybrid identity in a combination of identifiable vernacular features and rationally functional modernism
